Watonwan County Recorder

Joy Sing, Watonwan County Recorder, has been in office since 2003.  The County Recorder's primary function is maintaining land records for the county by recording real estate documents. Our land records go back to the late 1800’s. Through the years, records have been handwritten, typed, microfilmed (1973-2000) and most recently computer imaged for preservation.  In 2006, we began the process of converting the microfilm records to computer images.  Our goal is to have all records computer accessible in the future.
Other functions of the Recorder's office are:
              UCC Filings
              U.S. Passports
              Vital Records
                     Birth
                     Death
                     Marriage
                     Notary

Office Hours are 8:30 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Real estate documents should be recieved by 4:00 pm for same day recording.
No marriage or passport applications after 4:30 pm unless special arrangements are made.
