Financial Assistance
Responsibilities & Services
This division of Human Services provides economic support and health care to persons who qualify.

The Watonwan County and Tribal Child Care Plan is now available to review and make comments. You can find a copy of the plan in our lobby located at 715 2nd Avenue South, St James or you can contact Jodi Halvorson at (507) 375-7811 or by clicking the email button located on the right side of this screen to request a copy be sent to you.

Persons must fill out a formal application in order to have eligibility determined for the following:

Health Care Programs 

Persons can apply in-person at our local agency Monday – Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

To see if you may be eligible for our programs, use the Eligibility Screening Tool provided by Bridge to Benefits.

Applications can be completed online at ApplyMN for health care, nutrition assistance, child care assistance, and emergency assistance.

MnSure Navigators - Open Door Clinic Person

An Open Door clinic person (bilingual) will be in our office every Tuesday from 11 AM to 3 PM for anybody that wants help filling out their MnSure applications. Clients can also contact Nadia with CLUES at 952-378-7989 (bilingual) to make an appointment. Nadia is available to meet with you and help you with your MnSure application.
