Tree Program
Overview
The Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) office will help landowners design farmstead shelter belts, living snow fences  and field windbreaks. We are also able to do the tree planting for you. The landowner needs to till the area where the trees are to be planted and provide the tractor and operator. 50% down payment at time of order and full payment prior to pick up. Pick-up is usually the end of April. The SWCD office will send out a poster card letting you know the time, location, and date of pick-up.

The SWCD will plant the trees, with the landowner providing the tractor and operator, for the following charge:
  • 50% down payment
  • Minimum of $50.00 for all tree plantings
  • Bare root planted at $.30 each
  • Potted planted at $.60 each
