Services

Hometown Sanitation provides recycling services to Watonwan County via curbside pick up and recycling sheds in 8 locations throughout the county. Our curbside bin and recycling shed services accept plastics with the numbers 1, 2, & 5 along with the items on the acceptable list.

  • Office / School Paper (all colors)
  • Junk Mail
  • Newspaper & Inserts
  • Telephone books & other soft cover books
  • Juice Cartons (plastic)
  • Milk Cartons & Jugs
  •  Plastics containers #1, #2, & #5
  • Water Bottles
  • Yogurt tubs, Butter tubs, etc.
  • Aluminum Cans
  • Empty aerosol cans (non-toxic & no caps)
  • Metal Household Items (cooking pots & pans)
  • Steel Food Cans
  • Tin & Other Household metals
  • Beer, Wine & Alcohol Bottles
  • Glass Containers that contained food or beverage
  • All colored Glass (brown, green, blue, and clear)

Recycling / Shed Notes

  • Recycling carts must be on the curb by 7:00am on pick up day.
  • Do NOT leave bags of items on the floor in recycling sheds.
  • Do NOT leave items in plastic bags.
  • Do NOT bundle newspapers
  • Items smaller than your fist are garbage.
  • When in doubt....throw it out!!
